Delphine’s Comeback: From the Streets to Strength
Delphine was found curled up on a street in Dubai, unable to bear weight on her thoracic limbs. Abandoned and in visible distress, she had no voice to cry for help — but her eyes said everything.
Thanks to the compassion of @motherofcats.dxb, Delphine was rescued and brought to Dr. Vet Animal Hospital, where our team quickly stepped in to assess her condition. On intake, she presented with severe forelimb paresis, poor proprioception, and marked muscle atrophy — signs that she had endured trauma or neurological compromise for some time.
But from the start, there was a spark in Delphine — a will to fight, if only someone would fight beside her.
Our physiotherapy and rehabilitation specialists developed a comprehensive treatment plan focused on neuromuscular stimulation, proprioceptive retraining, and assisted weight-bearing exercises. Through hydrotherapy, balance boards, and targeted manual therapies, we worked to reawaken her connection to movement.
Progress was slow. But Delphine met each session with quiet determination.
Over the course of several weeks, her gait improved, muscle tone returned, and she began initiating movement on her own — small, wobbly steps at first, but soon, confident strides.
Today, Delphine is not only walking — she’s thriving.
Her story is a testament to the power of veterinary medicine, compassionate care, and the belief that even the most fragile lives can be restored with the right hands and the right heart.
